Leigh Regional Medical Center celebrates its addition of a specialized, comprehensive wound care and hyperbaric medicine center located on the hospital campus at 1530 Lee Blvd, Suite 2300, Lehigh Acres, FL 33936. This center provides state-of-the-art wound care, close to home, and same-day appointments are available.

Every year, millions of Americans with diabetes or circulatory problems develop non-healing wounds that limit their activity or even threaten their lower extremities. These problems usually respond to the use of the latest advances in wound care therapy. The wound care center at Lehigh Regional Medical Center offers advanced treatment options for chronic skin wounds and ulcers, decubitus ulcers (bedsores), vascular wounds, non-healing surgical wounds, diabetic foot ulcers, compromised skin grafts, chronic osteomyelitis, soft tissue radionecrosis, crush injuries, pressure ulcers, venous stasis ulcers or arterial ulcers.

“Our team is thrilled to offer our community specialized wound care that is close to home,” stated Doron Finn, M.D., Medical Director of the Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine Center. “We’re dedicated to providing the individualized care needed to achieve the healing of complex wounds.”

Hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) helps the body’s oxygen-dependent, wound-healing mechanism function more efficiently. While enclosed in a chamber at greater-than-normal atmospheric pressure, patients breathe pure oxygen, saturating their blood plasma and allowing it to carry 10 to 15 times the normal amount of healing oxygen to the body’s tissues. Up to 18 percent of wound care patients may require HBOT treatments, provided by our specially trained physicians and highly trained technicians and staff. The center has two HBOT chambers, five exam rooms, and will begin treating patients this month. Call patient registration at (239) 368-4710 to schedule an appointment. Most insurances accepted.
